Apple cider is one of the oldest drinks mentioned in recorded history, especially the hard kind. Here in the United States we quaff primarily the fresh, unhardened kind, though that is slowly changing. These days, apple growers are producing more varietal apple ciders, apple and fruit cider blends, hard cider, and apple vinegars than ever before. This is nowhere more apparent than at Stone Ridge Orchard where many new and interesting apple products, including an ever-expanding line of ciders and juices, are being produced as we look for new and interesting ways to tantalize your taste buds

It all started about four years ago when we set out to develop a cider style unparalleled in the Hudson Valley. We developed a style that reflects the season and our attention to culinary quality. In short, our traditional cider is considered by many to be the best around. But we didn’t stop there. Once we had a unique style of traditional cider, we began adding the juices of other crops grown right here in Stone Ridge to complement and enhance the already great traditional apple cider. We started with red currants and raspberries, and recently developed strawberry (made from those delectable TriStars) and Asian pear versions. Each has received very positive reactions from consumers and wholesale buyers alike. So much so that beginning in late May, 2007, we’ll officially roll out a sparkling version of each the aforementioned varieties.

Our ciders are available year-round at a variety of retail and wholesale outlets. We can’t ship the ciders, but you can find them at our farm market right here in Stone Ridge—when we’re open, of course—and many other retail outlets throughout the region. When we’re not, feel free to stop in, introduce yourself, and pick up some fresh-pressed cider right from the press. Soon we’ll have a list of retailers that stock our products. In the meantime, keep an eye out wherever you shop. Our products are also available through several distributors.

All of our ciders are freshly-pressed from fruit grown right here, UV treated for safety, and available with or without preservatives. Come Taste the Season with us!
